Asian hornet: LeFrelon.com reinvents itself and opens the collective fight to neighbouring countries

The Le Frelon association unveils a new version of LeFrelon.com, the non-profit platform that coordinates the fight against the Asian hornet. A complete redesign of the website, new tools for local authorities, beekeepers and professionals, and a test phase in five neighbouring countries: the platform is scaling up, just like an invasive species that ignores borders.

The association in a few lines

Short version
LeFrelon.com is a free platform, run by the Le Frelon association, that coordinates the collective fight against the Asian hornet: nests reported by the public, confirmed on site by volunteers, removed by pest control companies, and tracked in statistics.
Long version
Launched in 2018 in Ardèche, France, the LeFrelon.com platform has been run since 2022 by the Le Frelon association, a recognised public-interest organisation. It connects a member of the public reporting a nest, by form, WhatsApp or Telegram, its on-site confirmation by a volunteer, and its removal by a pest control company. The organisations that lead the fight, local authorities, beekeepers and companies follow each report and the figures for their area. The tool remains free for every organisation that coordinates the collective fight.
